Hoping my eyes aren't bigger than my needle...

(and Sabine, I SWEAR I didn't set out to copy your idea!)

Anyway, I should introduce myself first. I'm Erin. I'm a 30-something librarian who is obsessed with fairy tales, fantasy, renaissance faires...you get the picture? I've done one neighborhood RR already - the "traditional" kind - and it should be coming home by the end of the year. The theme for that one was a woodland neighborhood.

For this one, I'm thinking of doing Fairy Tale Towne. Of course, the town MUST be built around - or leading up to - a massive castle of some sort! I'm actually considering a castle from a Stoney Creek leaflet. It is seriously huge, though...so I just don't know.... And after seeing a Halloween town laid out in a random style with a road running through it, I think I want to try something similar for this. Right now I'm envisioning my big castle on either the top or along one side, with little cottages and such scattered below/around it. Right now my cottage design front-runners seem to be in the style of a couple Elizabeth's Designs patterns I've seen. The "thatched cottage" look, a la Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," always evokes a fairy tale/fantasy mood, I think! But I'm always open to suggestions...

Erin - if you haven't looked yet go to www.hoffmandis.com, click on the Online Reference Catalog, and do a keyword search on "castle". There are lots of great castle patterns, maybe some you haven't seen yet. Your neighborhood sounds wonderful! Can I move in?

A fairytale town - that sounds wonderful, Erin!!! Could quite fancy that myself! And I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves cottages with thatched roofs!!
Looking forward to seeing your neighbourhood grow!
Sabine :-)
