Has anyone started stitching their border yet?

Just curious as some of you have gotten pretty far in your blueprinting. :) I have been diligently identifying most of my buildings (thank goodness for the internet!) and other key things I want to include and now I'm waiting on a few patterns that I had to order. Once I get them I can attempt some placement planning. I haven't found a good border yet so I need to spend some time browsing at the LNS for ideas and also decide on a linen. Do any of you know what your stitch size is going to be? I'm thinking about 325 stitches square which would make mine about 18X18". I'm really looking forward to this project.

I thought we were supposed to wait until Dec 31st. But, I'm about as far along as you are! Have all my patterns, but no blue print or fabric just yet. Holding out until my finals are over for this semester... 2 more weeks.

I think Vonna said we could start our borders ahead of time if we wanted but no stitching of bldgs etc until the big day. However I'll be waiting until then anyway as I'm still trying to finish off my 2008 goals. :)

I dont think I can start on mine until later in the year. Need to get the charts, section out the acerage, figure out just how much land is needed, purchase the land and get the threads (whew!)

For those lucky enough to have all the land and buidlings ready, the borders are the only things that can be played with before ground breaking.

I just got my land on eBay. 72in x 55in. I don't have it in hand yet, waiting to make final decision on theme when I can take a look at the color, dove gray. A huge piece but I wanted plenty to play with when it came time for the blue print stage.

Am waiting till Dec. 31st. I ahve enough other projects to keep me busy till then. I do have my fabric and charts, but haven't decided if I'll do a border or not.ay wait till I actually start to stitch and see how things look.

I have not started stitching the border. Finishing projects projects before the year ends. In the meantime, I am having fun collecting patterns. G

I'm with Vonna, I planned what I am doing but won't actually start stitching until 12/31. I did put in a few stitches but I may change my mind about the whole thing when I actually start working on it.

My building site will be approximately 39 x 39 inches which sounds very large but the village will be built around the perimeters of this.

I am not sure if anything will go in the centre of the village or not yet - it may just be left as wasteland or it may have a few flowers or insects scattered about - the decision for that may be a few years down the line. The tempory fencing is in place (thanks to a friend with a overlocking machine) but the decision on the final fencing around my village is again too far away to contemplate at the moment.
